LMS Exec PTO Meeting Minutes

January 8, 2025

 

Attendance:  Anne Dresie, Jana Mickey,  Emma Benezette, Jennifer Truman, Sarah Olson, Kandi Jacobs

Anne called the meeting to order at 8:59 AM

  1. Approval of Minutes:
    1. Minutes approved

 

  1. Principal’s Update
    1. Many of the grants approved last month by PTO are already starting! Edgar Allen Poe program, was started with 7th Grade English classes!
    2. Staff very pleased with PTO holiday love, thank you PTO!
    3. Starting Enrollment, incoming 6th grade is January 27, 6 PM
    4. Schedules are adjusting for next year, so some classes like food/textiles will become a semester course versus quarters. Will be moving to a common schedule across all grades
    5. Winter Sports - Great turnout for Boy’s basketball team, Girls wresting – everyone practicing here, 6-8 girls
    6. Play has started

 

  1. President’s Update
  2. Discussed teacher grants / bookkeeping process – We need to get her a list of what was approved / dollar amount to Kathy. PTO provides Kathy a single check.  It goes into their PTO gifting budget.  If anything goes over, Kathy will let us know any additional amounts needed.  Kathy keeps the receipts.  

 

  1. Treasurer Report – Jennifer/Ashley
  2. Taxes filed. Thank you Lori!
  3. Reviewed standings

 

  1. VP Communications – Emma B
  2. 8th grade farewell update
    • May 20th, Tap Ins on the Greenhouse, booked ACE package, unlimited mini golf, drinks and food
    • T-shirts – taking inventory this week to determine if we need more
    • Ticket cost - $35-40 a ticket is the estimate

VP School and Community – Rene B

  1. Staff appreciation – Jan (STL)/Feb – planning to do something for conferences
  2. Student appreciation – spring plans – doing donuts and ice cream
  3. Nominations – Reach out to your committees to see who wants to stay and come back

 VP Ways and Means - Sarah O

  1. Eagles Night Out – March 6
    • Theme – Outer Space
    • Changes – Sarah is meeting with the principals next week to review proposed changes
    • Discuss PTO covering the cost of admission for all students
  2. Community fundraisers Spring
