LMS PTO EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING MINUTES

 

AUGUST 23, 2022

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 9:00am.

 

In Attendance:  Laura Yount, Shannon Fisher, Gina Cohen, Jana Mickey, Roseann Morgan and Sarah McQueary.

 

 

 

  1. Approval of Minutes-Sarah
        • Jana motioned to approve the minutes from the April, 2022 meeting and the summer voting.  Roseann seconded the motion.  All approved and the motion was passed.

 

  1. President’s Report-Laura
        • There was an error on the 2022-23 slate.  Gina and Brittney’s names were switched. 
        • The by-laws were located and we will update.

 

  1. Treasurer Report-Roseann Morgan
        • We have funds!!
        • This year the PTO will add a Fund-A-Friend button to collect donations for kids who may be in need of school supplies, a choir t-shirt, etc. 
        • 8th grade farewell asked for the PTO to cover the breakfast on the morning of 8th grade graduation. 
        • The First Day Festivities Committee budget needs to be increased to $350.00.
        • The Family Ambassador committee budget needs to be increased to $500.00
                • Gina motioned to approve the PTO paying for the 8th grade breakfast for graduation up to $1,000.00, increasing the First Day Festivities and Family Ambassador budgets.  Roseann seconded the motion.  All approved and the motion was passed.  The budget will be amended. 

 

  1. VP Ways and Means-Gina (report given by Laura)
            • Spirit Wear
                • We have sold 114/198 items.  Re-stock items to arrive soon.
                • Need a volunteer to help at Back to School Night.  Patrons will be able to pay via check on on Membership Toolkit. 
            • FNL
                • FNL will now be called Eagles Night Out.  The first one will be held on October 28, 2022 and the second one will be sometime in February, 2023.
            • Restaurant Nights
                • The committee will be doing 2 this year—Car wash coupons and a Chipotle night.

 

  1. VP School and Community-Shannon
            • Staff Appreciation
              • Shawna Ohde is the lead on this committee.  They had a coffee bar for all of the teachers and staff on the first day of school. 
              • $5 Andy’s gift cards will be given for birthday along with a birthday card.
              • September:  Fall Conference lunch
              • November:  Afternoon snacks
              • December:  Donuts and Starbucks with a holiday gift.
              • January:  Snacks and wings.
              • February:  Winter conference lunch.
              • March:  Mid-morning snacks.
              • April:  Pies.
              • May 1st-5th:  Staff Appreciation Week- “Travel Around the World.”
              • Shannon will ask the committee to take pictures of all of the events.

 

  1. VP Communications-Brittney (report given by Laura)
            • Eagle Fest
                • Eagle Fest will be held September 21, 2022 during the first home football game.  Laura reached out to both elementary schools to invite them.  The committee will meet on Thursday, August 25 to plan.
                • The budget was increased for this school year.
                • Committee will ask for the first 100 sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A to be free or ask for a discount.

 

 

Next meeting will be on October 13, 2022 at 9am.
